OctaMED 1.00 -> 1.02 Patch
===========================
CD-English.pch for CD-ROM Purchasers
CD-Deutsch.pch for CD-ROM Purchasers
CD-Français.pch for CD-ROM Purchasers
CD-Italiano.pch for CD-ROM Purchasers
Floppy.pch for Floppy Purchasers
Release date: December 1996 via CU Amiga Magazine
This patch file will update the Compact Disk or Floppy version of
OctaMED Soundstudio V1.00 to V1.02
It now includes support for the "to be released" Melody soundcard.
The patch file is copyright © 1996 Teijo Kinnunen & RBF Software.
It may not be further distributed without first obtaining
permission to do so from: rbfsoft@cix.compulink.co.uk
The SPatch program is freely distributable,
copyright © 1992 SAS Institute, Inc.
Instructions
============
To use the patch, copy the OctaMED executable file from
the CD (or Floppy) to a hard disk or a floppy.
To make things easier, temporarily rename the executable
file to just OctaMED.
Then copy the file of your choice (CD or Floppy) along with the
spatch program to the same directory as the renamed file (OctaMED).
From the Shell prompt, cd to that directory and type:
spatch -pCD-Eng.pch OctaMED
The patch will be applied, and after it's complete, you can do
the following steps:
* delete CD-English.pch ( or Floppy.pch )
* delete the old renamed file called OctaMED
* rename OctaMED_Soundstudio
Now you have V1.02 of the executable file.
The good news is that this patch will run on your hard drive
without the need to have your CD-ROM or floppy in the drive!!!!
(should make some very happy)
Please remember that if you do run the prog from the hard drive
that you should edit your Soundstudio.config file to look for
the paths on your hard drive instead of the CD-ROM/Floppy
For instance: IF using the CD (Floppy is similar) and you place the prog
into a drawer named OctaMED on your sys: (or DH1: etc), you will need to
edit the following lines in the config...
(These are only examples)
HelpFile = OctaMED_Soundstudio_CD:Help/OctaMED.Guide
to:
HelpFile = sys:OctaMED/Help/OctaMED.Guide
Directory_Songs = "OctaMED_Soundstudio_CD:Soundstudio V1/MODULES"
to:
Directory_Songs = Modules
Directory_Instr = "OctaMED_Soundstudio_CD:Soundstudio V1/Samples"
to:
Directory_Instr = sys:OctaMED/Samples
Directory_ARexxScripts = "OctaMED_Soundstudio_CD:DOCS/rexx"
to:
Directory_ARexxScripts = sys:OctaMED/Rexx
(The actual directories you choose depend on your own set-up)
Unlike the previous update patch, this one does not have to be launched
with the original CD (or floppy), that you purchased from us to actualy
be in your drive prior to it starting.
Fixes
=====
Since V1.00, these changes have been made:
* OctaMED could sometimes crash after loading a module (only if the Save
window had been opened before that). now fixed.
* Use Mixing (MMD) option (Misc. Opts) didn't always work correctly,
should now be fixed.
* All Cmd Pages didn't work in Block and Track menus, fixed.
* Sample editor pointer (in non-mixing mode) might have had wrong speed
in some screen modes, should be fixed.
* A new feature in the Notation Editor: When Advance with Voice is set in
Keyboard Options, right-mouse clicking a line in notation editor plays
all the notes on that horizontal position (tracker line).
* Some other minor corrections, some strings changed to be more user-
friendly, etc.
* Addition of support for the "soon to be released" Melody Soundcard
